Sally Thompson
Author, Storyteller, Anthropologist, Ponderer
An engaging speaker and experienced workshop leader, her career in the Rocky Mountains and American Southwest has spanned more than four decades. Since moving to Missoula, Montana in 1980, she has worked as an archaeologist, ethnohistorian, educator, filmmaker, and, throughout the years, as a tribal consultant and collaborator.
Thompson has interviewed hundreds of elders from tribes of the Missouri and Columbia river basins and traveled widely in North America and Europe in search of primary documents that reveal first-hand descriptions and illustrations of people and places of our past.
